it is amazing how something very small can have very big consequneces on the world around it.
he was putting it off for about 2 months now. “ahh, I can do it later, it’s not that important to me…” he said to himself, over and over again, knowing full well that he was blatantly lying to himself (and yet it is said that you yourself are the one person in the world that you can trust the most….bullshit).
and then, after what felt like multiple eternities of procrastinating, he not only decided to do it, but actually did it.
and from then on, every time he used his thumb on the freshly cleaned and now easy-going gear shift to put the bike into a higher gear, he couldn’t help but let a small and insignificant smile that made all the difference, appear on his face, accompanied by a warm feeling of ease somewhere inside his chest.
and, silently, his thumb thanked him.
